Senior Accountant

About the role

Glory Global, a provider of cash technology solutions for the financial, retail, cash centre and gaming industries, is hiring a Senior Accountant in Malaysia. The role supports local management teams with financial and commercial analysis, helps achieve business goals within budgeted resources and strengthens decision-making, while supporting the Orders to Cash function. It follows the introduction of a new ERP and aims to put in place people and processes aligned with global ways of working, statutory requirements and local commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Handle the full range of day-to-day accounting (AP, AR, GL, inventory and fixed assets)
• Manage the orders to cash function with the Senior Accountant, set customer credit limits and keep the sales contract database and invoicing up to date
• Analyse excess and ageing inventory and take action to optimise stock
• Keep statutory accounting and taxation up to date, with monthly balance sheets reconciled and differences resolved
• Lead month-end: review journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly reports, KPIs, cash flow and ad-hoc information
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory financial regulations, and partner with operations to close outstanding internal audit actions
• Champion the ERP system and monitor revenue and overheads against budget, proposing corrective action
• Assist with the annual budget and monthly and quarterly forecasts, and develop the team
• Act as finance lead on key projects and change management initiatives

Required profile

• At least 3-5 years of similar experience
• Bachelor's degree, CPA or ACCA in accounting
• Full-set month-end closing experience under tight deadlines
• Sound knowledge of Malaysia's statutory reporting (audit, tax and sales tax)
• Knowledge of revenue recognition and lease accounting
• Proven track record in accounts receivable, cash flow and inventory management
• Advantageous: Tier 1/2 audit experience, budgeting and forecasting experience, team development and change management experience

Required skills

• MS Office, especially Excel
• Good English (written and spoken) and strong analytical and data presentation skills
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and accurately, with good stakeholder communication
• JD Edwards experience desirable
