Operations Analyst Settlements (Fresh Graduates) - Kuala Lumpur

About the role

Delta Capita is hiring a permanent, full-time Operations Analyst for its Settlements function in Kuala Lumpur, working in a hybrid arrangement. The role ensures the timely and accurate settlement of cash flows for equity derivative trades, including pre-settlement checks and affirmation with counterparties, and acts as a control layer for booking issues such as incorrect economics. It reports to the settlements manager, with supervisory responsibilities shared by senior operations analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Affirm equity derivative cash flows with counterparties and carry out all pre-settlement checks (SSI's, booking, etc.) and settle cash flows accurately.
• Identify and escalate issues that may delay settlement or create exceptions.
• Respond promptly to requests from internal and external clients.
• Follow all policies and procedures, and support the control initiatives of the Control, Compliance and Management team.
• Carry out some investigations as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate in Business, Management, Finance, Accounting or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in treasury operations, especially settlements, and payments and/or cash management.
• Ability to stay focused in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
• Valid working permit for Malaysia is mandatory.
• Hybrid working: most clients expect at least 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home.

Required skills

• Interest rate derivatives lifecycle (booking, resets, fixing advices, settlements) and calculation/verification of interest cash flows.
• Standard settlement instructions, currency cut-offs and regulations, interpretation of confirmation documents, ISDA definitions and market settlement standards.
• Cash management, funding requirements and understanding of Nostro accounts beneficial.
• Business writing and communication; MS Office, especially Excel.
• Prior Swift messaging knowledge (MT103, MT199, MT202, MT202COV, MT299) and Calypso/Summit knowledge beneficial.
