Talent Acquisition Specialist (1 Year Contract)

About the role

BASF is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist for a 1-year contract within its Global Business Services in the Global Hub, based in Kuala Lumpur. The specialist manages end-to-end recruitment, from sourcing strategy and candidate sourcing through interviews, offers and onboarding, while building strong relationships with key stakeholders and looking for process improvements, automation and digitalisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the recruitment process from requisition management, candidate sourcing, selection, offer management, pre-hiring activities, satisfaction surveys, onboarding and personnel records.
• Collaborate with multiple parties to develop and deliver a recruitment strategy and framework for the service recipients.
• Support the talent pipeline by gathering local market insights, managing sourcing channels, building internal candidate data pools and supporting recruitment campaigns.
• Support internal and external candidate relocation (secondment, delegation, domestic relocation, repatriation) and coordinate related activities in line with legal requirements.
• Build and maintain a pool of potential candidates and provide market insights to improve sourcing strategies.
• Track and report key metrics such as candidates sourced and conversion rates.
• Identify process improvement, automation and digitalisation opportunities, prepare business cases and help implement them, and maintain knowledge documents.

Required profile

• Minimum graduate with a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources or Psychology.
• 4-5 years of experience in recruitment or candidate sourcing.
• Experience with large, diverse teams and clear communication at all levels.
• Proven ability to resolve process-related issues.
• Fluent spoken and written English; knowledge of other Asian languages is an added advantage.

Required skills

• HR principles and employment law understanding.
• Sourcing tools: LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, job portals.
• Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with HR systems such as SAP, SuccessFactors or Workday is preferred.
