Record to Report PEC Analyst (Japanese Speaker)

About the role

Roche is hiring a Record to Report PEC Analyst in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The role covers month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, financial reporting and documentation, with a requirement for proficiency in both English and Japanese.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, following work instructions and the month-end close checklist.
• Process and analyse booking accounting transactions, clear open items and perform analytical reviews of profit and loss, balance sheet, cost centre and transaction posting checks.
• Ensure accruals are justified and correctly posted, and that journals are performed accurately and on time.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, highlight and rectify anomalies, and submit monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting packages on schedule.
• Keep work documentation and processes compliant with ICFR, group policies, local statutory and legal requirements.
• Support compliance audits, respond to audit queries, and take part in continuous improvement projects and knowledge sharing.
• Review entries posted by the team, coach juniors, and contribute findings to a knowledge database.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Finance & Accounting, Commerce or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably general and management accounting.
• Proficiency in English and Japanese, with good writing and speaking skills.
• Desirable: external experience in a shared service or business process outsourcing engagement, and prior leadership or project management experience.
