Actuarial Intern - Financial Modeling

About the role

This internship offers actuarial students hands-on experience in financial modeling and supports data-driven decision-making. It helps interns build practical skills, gain industry exposure and receive mentorship to launch their actuarial careers. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur and follows a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in data analysis, modeling and other tasks supporting actuarial projects
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports and documentation for internal use
• Support the development and testing of actuarial models and tools
• Research industry trends, assumptions and methodologies
• Collaborate with actuarial and cross-functional teams to deliver insights and solutions
• Take part in team meetings and contribute to projects and process improvements

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Eagerness to learn and apply actuarial concepts in real-world business scenarios
• Preferred: availability for a minimum of 3 months

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with actuarial software or programming languages such as R, Python or VBA is a plus
