Supply Chain Cost Manufacturing Engineer

About the role
Moog is looking for a Supply Chain Cost Manufacturing Engineer to develop accurate cost models for commercial aircraft machined parts and drive cost‑saving initiatives across the supply chain.
Key responsibilities
- Create highly accurate bottom‑up parametric and deterministic cost models for commercial aircraft machined parts.
- Analyze current manufacturing, engineering and supply‑chain processes to identify improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Visit supplier facilities to assess assembly line efficiencies, cycle times and material waste.
- Participate in supplier selection and IPT teams, conducting technical variance reviews between vendor bids and internal should‑cost expectations.
- Assist in sourcing new business into the supply chain.
- Lead cross‑site supplier development, improvement plans and risk‑management activities.
- Provide process‑improvement support for production delivery, quality, productivity and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Translate complex technical realities into clear financial impacts for non‑technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Adhere to Commercial AG Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) standard processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations, engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality with hands‑on exposure to advanced manufacturing methods.
- Proven experience managing complex vendor relationships and cost management.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical aspects of goods and services and to lead teams.
- Blueprint reading and understanding of material specifications and secondary operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GD&T, complex metallic processing, chemical processing and advanced composite layups.
