Supplier Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Supplier Engineer to join its team in Kulim, Malaysia. The role supports new product development and introduction by ensuring engineering drawing requirements are clear and communicated to suppliers, and by driving manufacturability and cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with New Product Development teams to define and communicate engineering drawing requirements to suppliers.
• Collaborate with New Product Introduction teams to involve suppliers in specification development and design for manufacturability.
• Apply project‑management and quality‑tool techniques to explore alternate manufacturing processes that reduce cost or improve quality and reliability.
• Participate continuously in the Supplier Selection Process to build a competitive supply base.
• Assist in supplier technical audits, evaluate performance, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support quality problem resolution, incident management, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assess supplier production readiness for serial production of new and transferred modules.
