Power Grid & Systems Expert

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Power Grid & Systems Expert to support regional grid modernization and renewable integration projects across Southeast Asia. The role combines technical power system analysis, strategic advisory, and business development for utilities and international financing institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct steady‑state and dynamic stability analyses using PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSCAD.
• Lead impact assessments for connecting large‑scale solar, wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems to national grids.
• Evaluate projects against national grid codes to ensure system reliability.
• Advise on Smart Grid technologies, including Advanced Distribution Management Systems, HVDC and Digital Twins for asset management.
• Assist governments in developing Power Development Plans that balance renewable targets with grid stability.
• Support ASEAN cross‑border power trade and interconnector projects such as the Laos‑Thailand‑Malaysia‑Singapore integration.
• Lead technical portions of tenders for utilities and international financing institutions.
• Communicate complex technical findings to regulators, investment committees and other non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8–12 years of experience in power grid operations, engineering or utility consulting.
• Proficiency in business‑level English; fluency in Bahasa, Vietnamese or Thai is a plus.
• Familiarity with ASEAN grid codes and regulatory frameworks of at least two Southeast Asian countries.
