Regional Key Account Manager – Asia Pacific

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a Regional Key Account Manager based in Malaysia (Shah Alam) to develop and profitably grow its assigned Global Key Accounts within the Asia Pacific region. The role involves regular travel to China, and candidates with the appropriate work or travel authorization for China are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of each key account (strategy, needs, market).
• Set and execute regional strategies and targets with P&L accountability to meet sales, volume and gross profit goals.
• Identify new opportunities such as cross-selling in line with company directives.
• Coordinate key account developments across APAC with country Account Managers and work with Global Key Account Managers from other regions to expand product offerings and strengthen customer loyalty.
• Build strong customer relationships with principal contacts at all levels of the customer organization and respond promptly to inquiries and initiatives.
• Expand relationships with key global and regional suppliers to create new product offerings and improve competitiveness.
• Lead, direct and mentor country-level Key Account Managers responsible for sales at local customer sites.
• Complete periodic reports and admin tasks on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Science or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of sales and marketing experience.
• Fluent English (verbal and written); proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required.
• Ability to travel to China as required for business.
• Strong analytical skills, business acumen and customer orientation.

Required skills

• Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Familiarity with platforms such as SAP and CRM.
