Business & Corporate Banking – Community Business Manager

About the role

The Community Business Manager will grow and support SME customers across the branch network, delivering a superior banking experience and driving profitability for Hong Leong Bank.

Key responsibilities

• Expand the existing SME (ETB) portfolio of 300‑500 customers, increasing product holdings and profitability.
• Acquire new SME customers (NTB) through community visits, roadshows and branch‑based sales activities.
• Promote and sell merchant services, deposit accounts, secured loans (HP, mortgage, OD on FD) and unsecured products (credit cards, business cash loans, investments).
• Grow CASA balances and assist customers in setting up digital platforms (Hong Leong Connect, ConnectBiz) for online payments and payroll.
• Evaluate SME loan applications, understand lending requirements and submit proposals.
• Collaborate closely with Branch Managers and Area Managers to enhance segment penetration.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (FSA, KYC, AMLA) and internal policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in SME lending (product knowledge, business viability assessment, basic balance‑sheet and P&L understanding) OR at least 3 years in sales.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SME banking products and lending processes.
• Ability to evaluate business financials and prepare loan applications.
• Familiarity with digital banking platforms (Hong Leong Connect, ConnectBiz).
• Understanding of regulatory compliance (FSA, KYC, AMLA).
