Senior Accountant – Payment Operations & Projects

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Regional Accounting team in Kuala Lumpur. This hybrid position requires at least three days a week in the office and focuses on payment authorization, project coordination, and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate payment requests, ensuring compliance with policies, delegated authority and internal controls.
• Authorize payments via e‑banking platforms, maintaining segregation of duties and timely processing.
• Conduct sanctions and compliance checks, escalating issues as needed.
• Coordinate and support payment‑related projects, including system enhancements, automation, and process migrations.
• Maintain project trackers, action logs and status updates while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Prepare weekly operational and project status reports and support audit and control activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in accounts payable or payment operations, preferably in a shared‑services environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance and audit requirements.
• Proven experience managing projects, system implementations and process improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with e‑banking platforms.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Workday.
