Team Leader, Utilities & General Facilities

About the role

The Team Leader, Utilities & General Facilities is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance and reliability of all utility plants and general site facilities at the Pasir Gudang site. The role ensures continuous supply of steam, compressed air, nitrogen, water, de‑mineralised water and cooling water, while maintaining non‑production buildings, drainage, sewerage, fire‑fighting systems and site infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce environmental, health and safety (EHS) rules and manage safe handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Support daily operation and maintenance of boilers, air compressors, water and steam systems.
• Coordinate equipment servicing with OEM vendors and monitor performance.
• Track permits, licenses and inspection requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Raise purchase requisitions in SAP, manage inventory of spare parts and maintain documentation.
• Monitor KPIs, control departmental expenses and support continuous‑improvement projects.
• Assist in training coordination and collaborate with internal teams, contractors and authorities.

Required profile

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of boilers, air compressors and water systems.
• Handling of hazardous chemicals such as HCl and NaOH.
• Use of SAP for procurement and inventory management.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Understanding of Process Safety Management and Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
