Senior Associate – Accounting & Reporting (Inventory Management)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Associate to lead complex inventory provision processes for its international affiliates and manage month‑end close activities. Based in the AGS Kuala Lumpur office, you will work within the International Center of Excellence to drive process improvements and deliver insightful financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Account for and report inventory for the trading company and its affiliates.
• Deliver high‑quality financial reporting with clear variance analysis for key stakeholders.
• Participate in finance and system projects that simplify and improve current processes.
• Standardize Record‑to‑Report (R2R) and Financial Reporting (FRA) processes, develop tools, and enhance efficiency.
• Improve monthly closing and reporting, adding controls, automation, and reducing manual adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with AMA and AFCM regulations.
• Manage complex inventory provision calculations for international entities and report quarterly outcomes.
• Support period‑end closing with reconciliations, accruals, and provision bookings.
• Submit accurate inventory‑related data to Alcon Product Margin Reporting and Financial Consolidation Reporting System each month.
• Investigate and report Goods in Transit and collaborate with Global Supply Chain Finance to define SOPs and resolve financial issues.
• Participate in inventory projects such as new regional distribution centers and inventory transfers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading inventory provision processes for international affiliates.
• Strong background in month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and generate actionable insights.
• Experience working in a global finance Center of Excellence or similar environment.
