Resident Engineer, Mechanical

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Resident Engineer (Mechanical) to lead the mechanical aspects of construction projects in Petaling Jaya. You will ensure that all mechanical works comply with design specifications, safety standards and quality expectations while supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure and mission‑critical facilities such as data centres.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections with authorities, operators, contractors and clients.
• Attend and contribute to site and authority meetings.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities, sign off results and manage non‑compliance reports.
• Coordinate technical duties with the Design Office Team Leader and supervise resident site staff.
• Review shop drawings, verify as‑built documentation and certify progress payments.
• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and M&E progress reports.
• Oversee handover activities, resolve client complaints and assist in final account settlement.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Registered BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) professional.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical supervision, preferably in industrial or infrastructure projects.
