Resident Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Resident Engineer (Electrical) to lead the electrical delivery on complex infrastructure and building projects, including mission‑critical facilities such as data centres. You will ensure that all electrical works comply with design specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee electrical aspects of construction, reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Monitor installation works to guarantee compliance with approved designs and local standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation of electrical systems.
• Maintain quality control, safety compliance, and accurate site records.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors and consultants to resolve technical issues.
• Verify that delivered materials and equipment meet project requirements.
• Support commissioning activities and attend project meetings.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Registration as a Resident Engineer with BEM.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical supervision experience, preferably in industrial or institutional projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems for data centres and power distribution.
• Commitment to safety, quality and sustainability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with BIM tools.
