Associate Production Planner

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Associate Production Planner to join its Supply Chain team in Malaysia. The role supports material scheduling, flow management, and shortage mitigation to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of eye‑care products.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain material requirement schedules and record quantities, costs, and status of received, shipped, stocked, or in‑process items.
• Facilitate the flow of parts and assemblies across departments according to production and shipping plans, identifying and correcting shortages.
• Use knowledge of supplier processes, procurement, and engineering to flag potential issues and review the master production schedule.
• Estimate production rates, log time expenditures, and define operation sequences and lead times to meet shipping dates.
• Execute direct material buying, support long‑term supply‑chain strategies, and expedite materials when needed.
• Monitor production progress, generate schedule status reports, and ensure delivery commitments are met.
• Follow GxP regulations, SOPs, and documentation requirements, maintaining quality control and completing required training.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or production planning.
• Understanding of GxP compliance and ability to work within regulated environments.

Required skills

• Material scheduling and inventory management.
• Supply‑chain process knowledge (procurement, supplier coordination, production control).
• Ability to generate and interpret production and progress reports.
