Engineer - Supplier Quality (Purchasing)

About the role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will act as the subject‑matter expert responsible for elevating supplier performance and ensuring the quality of Bosch’s products in Malaysia. You will lead audits, drive supplier development, solve critical quality issues and manage escalations across our manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full supplier auditing process, from potential analysis and CSR audits to initial sample and comprehensive process audits.
• Lead supplier quality and cost‑improvement initiatives, conduct workshops, trainings and regular follow‑up visits.
• Intervene in critical supplier quality problems, coach suppliers on structured problem‑solving tools such as 8D, 5‑Why and Ishikawa, and ensure root‑cause elimination.
• Manage supplier escalations that require senior management involvement, implement dedicated quality measures and drive successful de‑escalation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality assurance or product development within industrial or consumer electronics.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Highly self‑organized, independent and eager to learn.

Required skills

• Quality assurance tools: Control Plan, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Poka‑Yoke, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Problem‑solving methodologies: 8D, Ishikawa (fishbone), 5‑Why analysis, Six Sigma.
• Process auditing experience, preferably with VDA 6.3 certification.
• Deep knowledge of a specific material domain (e.g., plastic parts, PCBA, stamped parts, casting).
