Team Lead, Cash Applications

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a Team Lead, Cash Apps to lead and oversee its Cash Application team. The role ensures accurate and timely processing of customer payments in line with company policies, procedures and service level agreements, while driving team performance, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily Cash Application operations so that customer payments are allocated accurately and on time, with issues resolved within agreed deadlines.
• Review and monitor unapplied and unidentified cash, receipt posting and allocation turnaround time, and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
• Manage stakeholder expectations through timely, accurate service, proactive communication and effective issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and agreed service levels.
• Champion process standardization and automation across APAC to reduce manual work and improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Coach, develop and empower team members, and drive performance management, succession planning and retention.
• Plan and support process transitions and migrations within scope and timeline.
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and timely responses.
• Cooperate with cross-functional SSC teams for smooth month-end closing and reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a relevant field.
• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in O2C operations.
• Minimum 2 years in a shared services environment and 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• At least 3 years of accounting-related experience with a strong understanding of AR processes and financial controls.
• Strong English and Mandarin communication skills are a must.
