Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)

About the role

AirAsia Aviation Management Services is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Airline Tech team in Sepang, Selangor. The role sits in the enterprise domain of the software engineering team and focuses on delivering secure, scalable solutions integrated with large-scale internal and external applications. The engineer also mentors others and drives engineering practices across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor software engineers and propose engineering solutions to complex problems.
• Identify, prioritise and execute tasks through the software development lifecycle.
• Develop tools and applications with clean, efficient code.
• Drive test-driven development and work with QA to bring automated testing capabilities.
• Help analyse, review and push code to the pipeline efficiently.
• Debug issues quickly, refactor code and automate repetitive tasks.
• Apply security, performance and scalability principles in daily work.
• Share and document knowledge, evangelise engineering practices and experiment with emerging technologies.
• Work with multiple teams to deliver complex software solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
• Front-end experience with JavaScript, CSS and HTML, and frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Mobile-first, responsive UI/UX experience.
• Backend experience with scalable applications and APIs using at least one of JavaScript, Python or C# (.NET).
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills, with attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with Node.js, React, Angular, Flask and .NET.
• Software engineering practices: coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing and operations.
• RESTful APIs and WebSockets, and third-party data security.
• CI/CD automation with GitLab, GitHub and Jenkins.
• Application logging, monitoring and performance management (e.g. Firebase App Analytics, Bugsnag).
• Performance and load testing tools.
