Software Engineer (C/C++) - Fresh Graduate

About the role

Motorola Solutions' software engineering team designs and develops digital two-way subscriber radios. This entry-level position is for a fresh graduate to contribute as an individual engineer to design, develop and enhance software features for two-way radios, working in an agile environment within a multi-site, global team. The role is based onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements and assess their feasibility against quality, performance, time and budget constraints.
• Write clean, well-documented and testable C/C++ code for embedded systems, following coding standards and best practices.
• Take part in the full SDLC, from requirements and design through implementation, testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with front-end architects, hardware engineers, test engineers and other stakeholders on feature implementation and integration.
• Run design and code reviews, and conduct unit, integration and system-level tests.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded software issues using debugging tools and techniques.
• Collect and analyze data to monitor and improve KPIs, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Good C/C++ programming skills and a solid understanding of OOP principles.
• Understanding of microcontroller operation in embedded systems.
• System debugging and analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional short-notice work arrangements.
