Project Manager – Kuala Lumpur

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead solar and renewable energy projects in Kuala Lumpur. You will coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants and authorities to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall project schedule, budget, scope and deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, consultants, authorities and internal teams.
• Track progress, provide regular updates and identify risks, proposing solutions.
• Oversee site activities, ensure compliance with drawings, method statements and HSE requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance, manpower, materials and quality.
• Support HSE inspections, risk assessments, permit‑to‑work and corrective actions.
• Act as primary client contact, manage expectations and handle escalations.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections and authority approvals, and ensure punch‑list closure.
• Prepare final documentation, as‑built drawings, warranties and handover to Operations & Maintenance.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of project management experience in solar, renewable energy, electrical, construction or infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Malaysian project regulations (ST/Energy Commission, DOSH, CIDB, local authorities).
• Ability to travel to project sites across Malaysia and work independently.

Required skills

• MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and project reporting tools.
• Solar rooftop or utility‑scale solar project experience.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, testing and commissioning, energisation readiness.
• Understanding of HSE, quality and regulatory compliance.
