Payroll & People Data Specialist – Mandarin Speaker (12‑Month Lease)

About the role

We are looking for a Payroll & People Data Specialist who is fluent in Mandarin to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a 12‑month lease contract. The role supports the business by delivering accurate payroll processing, maintaining HR data integrity, and providing expert advice on local payroll legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, company policies and service level agreements.
• Maintain high‑quality HR and payroll data, performing regular data integrity checks and updates.
• Configure and oversee time‑and‑attendance systems, including public holiday calendars, work schedules and calculation rules.
• Provide payroll data to Compensation & Benefits and Mobility teams via SAPHR for salary review processes.
• Monitor local payroll legislation, advise business units on changes, and support audit activities.
• Handle vendor management for payroll service providers, covering selection, contract negotiation, onboarding, performance monitoring and invoice processing.
• Collaborate with Country HR and Regional HR Business Partners to resolve operational issues and ensure seamless service delivery.
• Identify and drive process improvement, automation and digitalisation initiatives across payroll and HR data functions.

Required profile

• Fluent in Mandarin and English.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian payroll legislation and statutory reporting.
• Experience managing full payroll cycles, either in‑house or through external vendors.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to resolve complex payroll issues.
• Proven experience in vendor management and contract administration.
