Import Export & Customs AP (Senior Executive)

About the role

BASF is hiring a Senior Executive for Import Export & Customs AP in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, within its Logistics and Supply Chain Management function. The role drives efficient import, export and customs operations across the region by improving processes, standardising workflows and ensuring compliance with global, regional and local regulations. It is a permanent position with hybrid working options.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all import/export logistics processes in line with internal procedures, analyse and resolve logistics issues and maintain issue logs and non-conformances.
• Prepare, verify and consolidate operational reports and KPIs, run regular data extracts and support vendor management metrics.
• Oversee 3PL and LLP service providers for inbound/outbound transport and customs, conduct audits and support logistics procurement such as tendering and contracts.
• Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation in logistics, take part in system testing and process enhancements, and coordinate action items across import/export communities.
• Collaborate with business units, regional and global teams, and provide logistics solutions and advisories.
• Lead and represent import/export and customs projects, ensuring successful implementation of changes.
• Assume backup responsibility for service provider management and import-export operations as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (with relevant work experience) in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience handling import/export logistics with customs and trade compliance background and liaison with logistics service providers.
• Experience in SAP and in the chemical industry is preferred.
