Financial Reporting Senior Analyst – Mandarin Speaker (1‑Year Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst who is fluent in Mandarin to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a one‑year contract. The role will support BASF’s finance function across Asia‑Pacific, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in line with corporate policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end financial reporting transaction processing and ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness on a daily basis.
• Book and analyse accounting and fixed‑asset transactions, maintain master data and perform account reconciliations and clearing.
• Conduct analytical reviews of profit & loss accounts and balance‑sheet items, including trend analysis and posting checks.
• Prepare and coordinate month‑end, quarter‑end, year‑end and statutory financial reports for BASF entities across APAC.
• Produce ad‑hoc reports such as audit schedules and tax schedules as required.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and liaise with stakeholders to resolve queries.
• Participate in compliance audits, ensure documentation meets BASF policies and local legal requirements.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and contribute to regional projects, technology enhancements and M&A initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in financial reporting within a multinational environment.
• Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) and proficiency in English.
• Strong knowledge of internal control, statutory reporting requirements and corporate finance policies.
• Ability to work independently, support junior analysts and manage multiple reporting deadlines.
