Engineer’s Representative for Industrial Projects

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an Engineer’s Representative to lead and coordinate complex industrial construction projects in Malaysia. The role involves overseeing site‑based works, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and delivering projects such as semiconductor plants, cleanrooms, data centres and pharmaceutical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full construction project lifecycle, from design development through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, handover and close‑out.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process, HSE, quality and commercial functions.
• Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and government authorities to secure approvals and maintain stakeholder alignment.
• Monitor project progress, address issues promptly and ensure safety, quality and compliance standards are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Architecture, Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in industrial, highly regulated construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction practices, statutory requirements and authority approval processes.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with international engineering and project management standards, including FIDIC contract principles.
• Experience with project management and engineering software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) is an advantage.
