Customer Engineer – Field Service (Semiconductor Equipment)

About the role

The Customer Engineer serves as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor equipment. The role uses digital analytics for troubleshooting and applies basic diagnostic techniques to resolve technical issues while collaborating with senior engineers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques and use digital analytics to assess equipment.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to understand roadmaps and business challenges.
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• 4‑7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum and thermodynamics.
• Strong knowledge of hand tools and digital multimeters; basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
