Technical Business Analyst - SAP Finance

About the role

An established organisation is seeking a Technical Business Analyst - SAP Finance to join its team in Malaysia. The role bridges business and technical teams and supports the delivery and optimisation of finance processes within a modern SAP S/4HANA environment. It is a contract position until 30 June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business and system requirements for SAP Finance processes with finance stakeholders, solution architects and delivery teams.
• Facilitate workshops on financial configuration, transaction processing, period-end close, reconciliations, reporting, master data and ledger accounting in SAP S/4HANA.
• Maintain project documentation such as requirements, process maps, design decisions and workshop outputs using Confluence and related tools.
• Translate requirements into functional specifications and support technical teams through design, build and implementation.
• Support finance-focused testing, including test planning, execution support, defect analysis and issue resolution.
• Contribute to data migration by validating business rules, reconciliation requirements and data quality, and support cutover, deployment planning and business readiness.
• Work with project and operational teams to identify process improvements aligned with business objectives and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in large-scale SAP Finance transformation or implementation programs.
• Experience facilitating workshops, eliciting requirements and engaging with business and technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies, defect management, data migration and deployment activities.
• Strong documentation skills and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• SAP S/4HANA Finance, including General Ledger, FI, reconciliations, reporting and period-end processing.
• Documentation tools: Confluence and Jira.
