Supplier Quality Engineer (Electronics Manufacturing)

About the role

A multinational engineering and technology organisation that designs and manufactures highly specialised electronic equipment for critical operational environments is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer in Johor. The role gives ownership of regional supplier quality and builds technical expertise in electronics manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate supplier-related quality issues and lead root cause analysis.
• Work with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Review and monitor supplier quality metrics, audits and performance indicators.
• Evaluate component and assembly quality, especially for electrical and electro-mechanical products.
• Support supplier qualification, development and onboarding.
• Interpret electrical schematics and drawings to troubleshoot technical quality concerns.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement and Quality teams to resolve supplier issues.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer requirements and industry best practice, and take part in supplier audits and quality improvement projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar quality-focused roles.
• Background in electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing environments.
• Experience with electrical components, harnesses, cables, connectors or related assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and supplier management abilities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with quality methodologies such as 8D, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP or Lean Six Sigma is advantageous.
