Project Manager - Engineering and CAPEX Delivery APAC

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a Project Manager for its APAC Engineering and CAPEX Delivery team, based in Malaysia (Shah Alam). The role leads and supports the evaluation and execution of capital investment projects such as new investments, facility expansions and improvements, and coordinates with regional directors on the annual CAPEX budget.

Key responsibilities

• Establish project plans, milestones, governance routines and reporting, and monitor progress against scope, timeline, budget, quality and deliverables
• Contribute to CAPEX assessment from a business development view and propose delivery models such as EPC, EPCM and DB
• Coordinate across Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) or EPCM (+Management) and prepare regular project updates for management review
• Lead or support project gate reviews under the Brenntag Project Management Framework (BPFM) with the regional Council of Technical Evaluation
• Help standardize project management tools and processes, and define and share technical standards across APAC
• Support Management of Change (MOC), compliance with regulatory, quality, safety and environmental requirements (including GMP/GDP where applicable), and project risk assessments
• Support the annual regional CAPEX budget and expenditure proposals, and help maintain licenses and regulatory approvals
• Evaluate vendor quotations, support commercial negotiations with the Indirect Procurement team, and manage contractors to agreed scope, quality and timelines
• Translate customer and operational requirements into technical solutions, and build relationships with customers, real estate partners, legal teams and government authorities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical), Project Management or a closely related discipline
• 5-7 years of project management experience, preferably in EPC, facilities, plant engineering, manufacturing, warehouses or CAPEX projects
• Proven experience managing facility/plant CAPEX projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders
• Strong vendor and contractor management experience and experience with cross-functional teams
• Exposure to GMP/GDP, Dangerous Goods or regulated environments is an advantage; chemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG, semiconductor, manufacturing or distribution experience is preferred
