Engineer II, Test Engineering - Product Development

About the role

Analog Devices is hiring a Test Engineer for its Product Development team in Penang. You will design, develop and implement cost-effective methods for testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment during product development and manufacturing. You will prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and write specifications and procedures for new products, working with moderate guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement test cases and methodologies to ensure product reliability and quality across projects
• Create and run diagnostic programs that identify performance issues in each development phase
• Develop test fixtures and equipment that measure and validate product specifications
• Define and document test setups and procedures so devices meet industry and company standards
• Plan labor, schedules and equipment allocation for testing and evaluation of standard and specialized devices
• Troubleshoot technical issues in systems and equipment using analytical problem solving
• Maintain testing processes that follow quality standards and lead qualification testing for product lines
• Design and oversee the manufacture of PCBs for test setups and evaluation boards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field
• Typically 2+ years of relevant experience in test engineering or a related discipline
• Ability to estimate and coordinate resources, including scheduling and equipment allocation
• Understanding of qualification testing methodologies

Required skills

• Structured test methodology design and execution of diagnostic programs
• Design of moderate-complexity test fixtures and equipment
• Writing detailed test procedures
• PCB design knowledge for test boards and evaluation boards

The role involves travel about 50% of the time and is a day shift. Positions requiring access to technical data may require export licensing approval, so non-US citizens and permanent residents may need to go through an export review process.
