Server Platform Validation Senior Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Server Platform Validation Senior Technician to join our hardware validation team. The role involves hands‑on assembly, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of server platforms and subsystems in a dedicated lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble servers, perform hardware upgrades, reworks and routine maintenance following engineering instructions.
• Set up and configure test systems, including BIOS/firmware flashing, operating‑system installation and peripheral integration.
• Execute validation tests such as thermal, power, stress, interoperability and firmware assessments.
• Document test results, capture logs and report issues accurately to engineering teams.
• Assist in root‑cause analysis by reproducing issues and collecting relevant data.
• Maintain lab infrastructure – racks, power, cooling, network connections and inventory.
• Collaborate with validation engineers to prepare systems for EVT/DVT/PVT cycles.
• Support BIOS, firmware and BMC/IPMI update processes during validation.
• Ensure lab safety and best‑practice procedures are consistently followed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electronics, Computer Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience working in a server or hardware validation laboratory.

Required skills

• Hands‑on server assembly and hardware upgrades.
• Knowledge of x86 architecture, CPU socketing, memory and storage installation (SATA, NVMe).
• Experience with BIOS and firmware flashing, BMC interfaces (IPMI, Redfish).
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating‑system installation.
• Use of flashing tools, diagnostic software and hardware testing utilities.
• Scripting for automation and logging (Python, Bash).
• Basic electronics tools such as multimeter and oscilloscope.
• Understanding of thermal, power and stress testing procedures for enterprise hardware.
