Senior Packaging Development Engineer

About the role

Monolithic Power Systems is seeking a Senior Packaging Development Engineer to design, develop, and scale new semiconductor packages and modules for industrial, automotive, renewable, and telecom markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new packages and modules, ensuring they meet electrical, thermal, and mechanical specifications.
• Use simulation software independently to validate designs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, subcontractors, and material suppliers to develop packages, assembly processes, and technologies.
• Optimize assembly materials and processes for performance, reliability, yield, and cost.
• Benchmark competitors and create new methodologies, technologies, and intellectual property.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in package and module design.
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
• Strong innovation and problem‑solving mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks preferred).
• Deep understanding of packaging technologies, process flow, materials, qualification, and manufacturing implementation.
• Knowledge of thermal, electrical, and mechanical FEA/CFD simulation tools (ANSYS Icepak, Q3D, Mechanical preferred).
• System‑level simulation skills are a plus.
