Senior Disaster Recovery Analyst

About the role

Deriv is hiring a Senior Disaster Recovery Analyst in Cyberjaya. The role runs real recovery tests for business-critical applications and keeps the evidence of resilience accurate and usable, working closely with DevOps, WinOps, SRE, engineering, product and operations teams. It sits within a resilience function that is being rebuilt around AI tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run DR exercises for database failures, regional outages, SaaS provider disruptions and live failover, and report honestly on what worked and what did not.
• Work hands-on with DevOps, WinOps, SRE, engineering, product, operations and SaaS owners to test recovery plans against how systems behave under stress.
• Feed every incident and near-miss back into the DR plan so the same failure does not catch the team twice.
• Run business impact analyses that pressure-test RTO and RPO targets against real operational data.
• Maintain and audit DR strategies, runbooks, test records, BIAs and recovery evidence, and build dashboards that show leadership whether the team is actually ready.
• Use AI to model failure scenarios, draft exercise briefs, automate evidence gathering and surface gaps, and analyse historical incidents for patterns.
• Flag systems that go live without a tested recovery plan and explain risk clearly to engineers and executives.

Required profile

• 4 to 8 years in disaster recovery, business continuity, infrastructure resilience or cloud operations.
• Hands-on experience running real DR exercises or failover tests, beyond writing plans or facilitating tabletops.
• Experience conducting or contributing to business impact analyses, especially in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Comfortable using AI tools for analysis, reporting, simulation and evidence automation.
• A relevant certification held or in progress, such as CBCP, MBCI, AWS/GCP Professional or equivalent.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or equivalent, including cloud-native failure modes.
• Working knowledge of ITIL and business continuity frameworks applied in practice.
