Senior DevOps Engineer (AI & Production Infrastructure)

About the role

Deriv.com is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer in Cyberjaya to own production infrastructure and reliability end to end, for services that must stay up for millions of traders across time zones. The role sits alongside the security team and covers cloud, container, database, monitoring and CI/CD environments, with AI-assisted monitoring, automation and security workflows already running in production.

Key responsibilities

• Production infrastructure: design and maintain cloud, container, database, monitoring and CI/CD environments for high-availability services.
• AI-native delivery: design automation, generate infrastructure-as-code, test, refactor, document and create runbooks, with AI tooling built into the workflow.
• Incident response and resilience: alerting logic, remediation scripts, self-healing patterns, circuit breakers and fault-tolerant architecture.
• Security operations: hardening, intrusion detection, configuration audits and AI-enhanced threat detection with the security team.
• Maintain and extend Datadog, Grafana and custom observability systems, and diagnose and resolve production incidents.
• Prototype and deploy autonomous AI systems for operations, including always-on agents that investigate anomalies and take approved remediation actions.

Required profile

• 4+ years of DevOps, SRE, infrastructure engineering or production operations experience.
• Hands-on experience shipping and supporting real production infrastructure, not just proofs of concept.
• Strong SRE practice, incident response, on-call and high-availability web service architecture background.
• Infrastructure automation and configuration management experience; practical containerization experience.
• A proven AI-first operating style, using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Kiro to design and improve infrastructure.

Required skills

• Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or equivalent; Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud infrastructure at scale with AWS, GCP, Azure or similar.
• Linux and Windows Server, networking, databases, security, monitoring and CI/CD.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, Go, PowerShell or similar.
• Bonus: PostgreSQL, Redis, Aurora, CloudSQL, Supabase, MS-SQL, Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI, IDS/IPS, DDoS protection, and autonomous agent frameworks.
