Payroll & People Data Specialist – Mandarin Speaker (12‑Month Lease)

About the role

We are looking for a Payroll & People Data Specialist who is fluent in Mandarin to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a 12‑month lease contract. The role supports the business by delivering accurate payroll processing, maintaining HR data integrity, and providing expert advice on payroll and HR systems.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure data quality and integrity for payroll and HR data maintenance.
• Manage the full payroll portfolio (in‑house or via vendors) in compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
• Resolve payroll issues, perform payroll accounting, taxation, and legislative administration.
• Configure and maintain time‑and‑attendance systems, including public holiday calendars and work schedules.
• Provide payroll and compensation data from SAP HR to Compensation & Benefits and Mobility teams.
• Oversee payroll vendor selection, contract management, performance monitoring and invoice processing.
• Monitor local payroll legislation and advise business units on changes.
• Collaborate with Country HR and Regional HR Business Partners to resolve operational queries.
• Drive process improvements, automation and digitalisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of payroll and HR data processes and local legislation.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English.
• Ability to provide expert consultation and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.
