Finance Intern – Year-End Closing

About the role

Santan Food Services Sdn. Bhd. is looking for a diligent and motivated Finance Intern to support its finance team during the year-end closing period. The internship gives hands-on experience in financial closing procedures, including reconciliations, audits and financial reporting, so that all financial records are accurate and complete for the fiscal year end.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, ledgers and subsidiary accounts
• Support the preparation of documents and schedules for internal and external audits
• Help prepare and enter adjusting journal entries for year-end closing
• Review and verify the accuracy of financial data and transactions
• Assist in preparing year-end financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements
• Calculate and record accruals, provisions and other year-end adjustments
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Organise and maintain financial records and documentation
• Provide ad hoc support on year-end tasks and projects

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Previous experience or coursework in accounting, finance or audit support is beneficial but not required

Required skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with financial data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with accounting software
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and year-end closing processes
• Good organisational skills, written and verbal communication, and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
