Credit Risk Management Senior Analyst – Japanese Speaker

About the role

The Credit Risk Management Senior Analyst will oversee credit risk activities for the assigned market portfolio in the Asia Pacific region. This role requires fluency in Japanese and a strong understanding of BASF’s global and regional credit risk guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain customer master data, ensuring payment terms and other details are up‑to‑date.
• Perform risk assessments, set internal risk ratings, credit limits, and order processing codes using CCRM tools.
• Review and release blocked orders or obtain necessary approvals according to the approval matrix.
• Track credit usage, BASF risk ratings, and sales exposure; provide regular reporting at country, regional and global levels.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and support the Collections team on dispute items.
• Execute additional CCRM processes such as IFRS9 reviews, prolongations, and bad‑debt management.
• Participate in project implementation for internal, regional and global processes, and act as an Area of Competency (AOC) member.
• Support compliance audits, ensure documentation meets BASF policies and local legal requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in credit risk management.
• Fluency in Japanese (spoken and written).
• Familiarity with BASF’s credit risk framework and regional guidelines.
• Ability to work closely with analysts, managers and cross‑functional stakeholders.
