Assistant Sales Manager – Industrial Adhesives & Tapes

About the role

3M is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager for its Industrial Adhesive & Tapes Division. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, building customer relationships, and delivering technical solutions across Malaysia.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve designated sales targets and generate qualified opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Develop deep product knowledge of 3M adhesives and tapes, including features, benefits, and applications.
• Identify, engage, and nurture new customers while maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts.
• Provide technical support and product demonstrations to help customers understand applications and value.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and forecast demand to uncover new business opportunities.
• Report monthly on sales activities, forecasts, and competitor insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of sales experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with an established network.
• Self‑starter with high motivation, strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage pressure, and travel across Malaysia at least twice per quarter.
• Valid driver’s licence and personal transport.

Required skills

• Technical product knowledge of industrial adhesives and tapes.
