About the role
NXP is looking for an Accounting Intern in Kuala Lumpur for 2026. The intern supports the accounting team with month-end and year-end closing, statutory and tax work, payroll accounting and compliance coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Perform monthly or quarterly closing activities, including posting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation
- Assist with statutory and tax accounting, including local compliance reporting, external submissions, withholding tax filing and preparation of tax packages
- Assist with payroll accounting close and reconciliation
- Assist with coordination of SOX and compliance matters
- Support and implement initiatives for automation, process improvement and transformation in accounting and statutory areas
Required profile
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business, or holding a professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or CPA
- Minimum CGPA of 3.4
- Proactive attitude, good critical thinking and communication skills
- Adaptable to the day-to-day environment of a multinational company
