Global Import Export Verification (Senior Executive)

About the role

BASF's Regional Service Hub in Kuala Lumpur is hiring a Senior Executive for Global Import Export Verification within its Logistics and Supply Chain Management function. The role ensures timely and accurate verification of global import and export logistics services by checking invoices and supporting documents against contracts and approved spot rates, resolving discrepancies with logistics providers and internal teams so that payments can be made on time and billing errors are reduced.

Key responsibilities

• Verify supply chain service and freight invoices against contracted rates or approved spot quotations according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Record verified costs accurately and on time in systems such as SAP to support correct financial posting and payment processing.
• Work with service providers, local Supply Chain teams and Finance to clarify discrepancies and correct invoice errors.
• Follow up with stakeholders to obtain complete supporting documentation needed for cost verification and audit readiness.
• Take part in process improvement, standardisation and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy and turnaround time.
• Understand charging mechanisms, identify process risks, propose mitigations and support issue resolution.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Degree of any discipline for 1-2 years of experience, or diploma of any discipline with more than 2 years of relevant experience in an MNC supply chain environment.
• 1-2 years of experience in supply chain or service provider payables, or fresh graduates are welcome.
• Good command of written and spoken English, as this is a global position.
• Structured, detail-oriented and independent, with good interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams.
• International supply chain or process knowledge, including hands-on experience in operational shipping and logistics management, is an added advantage.
