Full Stack Developer – 1 Year Contract

About the role

BASF's Global Technology Unit is seeking a Full‑Stack Developer to join its Kuala Lumpur Shared Services Center on a one‑year contract. You will work closely with global business enablement and solution delivery teams to design, build, and support modern IT applications for BASF’s worldwide operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop responsive front‑end user interfaces using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, preferably Vue.js.
• Design, implement, and maintain back‑end services and APIs in Python, with a focus on FastAPI.
• Participate in database design, data storage integration, and performance tuning for PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Ensure software quality through unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices aligned with BASF standards.
• Monitor and optimise deployed solutions and their infrastructure to minimise service disruptions.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and documentation, including design documents, runbooks, and support materials.
• Collaborate with technical teams across BASF’s technology landscape to ensure compliance with security policies and integration guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 3‑5 years of full‑stack development experience in a DevOps environment.
• Proven ability to work in a global, multi‑site team and contribute to community of practice initiatives.
