Principal Information Systems Operations Manager

About the role

Alcon is seeking a senior leader to shape the strategy and execution of its IT systems operations. The Principal will guide the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology solutions that support the company’s global eye‑health mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of IT systems aligned with business objectives.
• Drive adoption of innovative technologies and system improvements across the organization.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define the strategic direction for IT operations.
• Oversee multiple IT projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, performance standards, and budget constraints.
• Continuously assess system performance and recommend enhancements.
• Influence overall IT strategy and operational efficiency.
• Ensure IT architecture is scalable, secure, and supports future growth.
• Make high‑level decisions on technology adoption and system architecture.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in an Information Technology‑related field.
• 7–10 years of IT experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in infrastructure management, network design (LAN/WAN, VLAN), server administration, backup and disaster recovery, cybersecurity controls, and OT/IT integration.
• Track record of driving global solution adoption.
• Accountability for adherence to security and compliance policies within service delivery.
