Technical Project Manager - Manufacturing Equipment

About the role

A client based in Penang, Malaysia is looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead equipment development, deployment and advanced manufacturing initiatives. The role manages complex program schedules, tracks progress, drives milestones and coordinates cross-functional teams across R&D, process development, manufacturing engineering, procurement, supply chain, sales and finance. The position is full time, permanent and on site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate tooling builds and project activities.
• Track project goals, milestones, deliverables, schedules, risks and resource needs.
• Work cross-functionally so that scope, resources and timelines stay aligned.
• Manage resource conflicts across local and global teams.
• Lead technical discussions to identify and resolve program risks.
• Facilitate qualification and ramp management with Equipment, Supply Chain, Planning and Engineering teams.
• Provide concise reporting, keep stakeholders aligned and update leadership on progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with at least 7 years of equipment or process engineering experience, preferably in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing.
• At least 5 years of program management or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing large, complex, cross-functional programs.

Required skills

• Strong technical understanding of equipment design, automation and manufacturing processes in R&D and high-volume manufacturing.
• Ability to bring structure, clarity and focus in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
