Supplier Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Engineer works closely with New Product Development (NPI) and New Product Introduction teams to ensure engineering drawing requirements are clear and that supplier expectations are communicated effectively. The role supports design for manufacturability, investigates alternate manufacturing processes, and participates in supplier selection and quality issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with NPI teams to guarantee the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Engage with New Product Introduction teams to involve suppliers in specification development and design‑for‑manufacturability reviews.
• Apply project management skills and quality tools to explore alternate manufacturing processes that reduce cost or improve quality and reliability.
• Maintain continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to build a competitive supply base in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and technology.
• Assist with quality problem resolution and incident management.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within an engineering discipline.
• Applies general business knowledge acquired through education or past experience.
• No supervisory responsibilities; accountable for technical contributions.
• Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and makes judgments based on analysis of information and practices.
• Has limited impact on the work team, operating within standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.
• Communicates straightforward information, asks clarifying questions, and checks for understanding.
• Open to New College Graduates (NCG) entering the workforce.
