Software Engineer II

About the role

AirAsia is looking for a Software Engineer II to join its enterprise domain within the software engineering team. Full stack engineers focus on delivering secure, scalable solutions integrated with large-scale internal and external applications, working in an agile Scrum team and sharing knowledge with colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to an agile Scrum team and execute test-driven development on assigned projects.
• Manage source code so it can be analysed, reviewed and pushed to the pipeline efficiently.
• Keep security, performance and scalability as guiding principles in daily work.
• Share and document knowledge, and evangelise good software engineering practices across the team.
• Explore emerging technologies and work with multiple teams to deliver complex software solutions.

Required profile

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience of 3+ years in software engineering.
• Experience designing and deploying scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant applications.
• Team experience contributing to automation and improving development/QA with CI/CD tools.
• Working experience with software release management.

Required skills

• C# for .NET and Python; JavaScript (ES5).
• Solid understanding of Git, including branching and merging strategies.
• Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), virtualisation (Docker, VMware/vSphere) and cloud analytics.
• CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, TeamCity, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Nexus.
• Monitoring and logging tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, Nagios, SolarWinds; performance and load testing tools.
• Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift are an asset.
