Senior Strategic Sourcing Associate (Mandarin Required) - 1-Year Contract

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Senior Strategic Sourcing Associate on a 1-year contract with a hybrid work arrangement. Reporting to a Senior Country Sourcing Manager, the role supports the JAPAC Global Strategic Sourcing Leads in developing, managing and running competitive sourcing events and processes, negotiating and implementing local contracts and agreements, and updating Amgen's procurement systems of record. It involves working closely with affiliates' Strategic Sourcing Leads and stakeholders across many indirect spend categories.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and stakeholder objectives to source effective suppliers and solutions
• Identify value opportunities through negotiation or competitive bidding (RFX) scenarios
• Work with Country Sourcing Managers and business colleagues to understand demand for critical projects and statements of work
• Implement sourcing tactics and productivity projects for Commercial and General indirect spend across countries
• Manage Request for Proposal and Quotation (eRFX) processes, ensuring quality and compliance
• Document sourcing execution in designated tools and Amgen's systems of record
• Help Country Sourcing Managers develop supplier analysis and market intelligence, and negotiate proposals and statements of work
• Ensure procurement policies are followed, inform stakeholders of sourcing policies and procedures, and escalate non-compliant purchase requisitions
• Partner with business customers and legal on ongoing contract management of new, existing and expiring contracts

Required profile

• Degree and more than 2 years of sourcing experience
• Good understanding of sourcing processes (tenders, competitive bidding, supplier negotiation and contracting) across multiple indirect spend categories
• Experience in basic project management and ability to propose practical solutions
• Good communication skills and problem-solving skills, with high learning agility
• Ability to work with minimal direction and to adapt analytical skills to evaluate information from various sources
• Fluent business English and written and spoken Mandarin

Required skills

• Experience using e-procurement tools such as Scout, Ariba or SAP
• High proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
