Production Planning Executive

About the role

AIXTRON, a manufacturer of MOCVD deposition equipment for semiconductor materials such as GaN, SiC and GaAs, is building a new greenfield manufacturing and engineering hub in Batu Kawan, Penang, with operations planned to start in 2027. It is looking for a Production Planning Executive to join the team as pioneers of the Malaysia site, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. Most work is at the Batu Kawan site, with occasional requests to work at the Kulim site.

Key responsibilities

• Convert sales forecasts and confirmed customer orders into detailed weekly and daily production schedules, considering capacity, tooling and material availability.
• Optimize sequencing to reduce changeovers, idle time and bottlenecks, and issue production orders to the shop floor while monitoring progress.
• Reschedule orders dynamically for machine breakdowns, material shortages or urgent customer requests.
• Assess available manpower and tooling, identify capacity bottlenecks and propose overtime, shifts or outsourcing, and coordinate preventive facility maintenance with the facility team.
• Maintain accurate production order data in SAP and generate daily and weekly production achievement reports.
• Monitor schedule adherence, work with production supervisors to adjust priorities, and track on-time delivery KPIs to drive improvements.
• Work with Material Planning on rolling forecasts and escalate schedule risks caused by material constraints.
• Coordinate with the warehouse on timely issuance of materials and receipt of finished goods, and communicate realistic delivery dates to sales and customer service.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in material planning, production planning or inventory control within a Malaysian manufacturing environment.
• Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and good shop floor communication.

Required skills

• Understanding of capacity planning, BOM structures and manufacturing routing.
• Experience with LMW is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in SAP Production Planning and advanced Excel.
