Import Export Executive – Japanese Speaker

About the role

The Import Export Executive will support BASF’s Asia‑Pacific operations by managing inbound and outbound transportation and related documentation for Malaysia and other assigned countries. The role requires fluent Japanese to liaise with Japanese‑speaking stakeholders and ensure smooth logistics flows.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all inbound and outbound transportation processes, including documentation, for assigned countries.
• Archive transportation documents in line with company and regulatory guidelines.
• Escalate deviations promptly to keep shipments on schedule and meet delivery dates.
• Monitor service provider performance against agreed KPIs and conduct periodic quality reviews.
• Maintain SAP TM data, ensure process adherence, and support system testing for new flows.
• Handle non‑conformances, maintain issue logs, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with country import‑export teams and hub‑based delivery services to ensure timely execution of shipments.

Required profile

• Fluent Japanese (spoken and written) to communicate with internal and external partners.
• Experience in import/export logistics within a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of transportation management and documentation requirements.
• Ability to analyse operational issues and propose improvements.

Required skills

• Japanese language proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM).
