Driver for UN Resident Coordinator Office

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a professional driver to provide safe transportation for the UN Resident Coordinator and authorised UN personnel, as well as to support logistical tasks across the office and partner institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive vehicles safely for the transport of the UN Resident Coordinator and authorised UN staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all security, safety and organisational protocols.
• Be available for after‑hours, weekends and official travel as required.
• Deliver parcels, documents and other items between the UN office, government ministries, embassies and development partners.
• Make minor purchases, collect urgent supplies and handle customs formalities for goods.
• Receive official personnel at the airport and assist with immigration and customs procedures.
• Interact courteously with officials and visitors.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance, minor repairs and ensure the vehicle remains clean.
• Log trips, mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance activities.
• Follow accident‑reporting procedures and apply sound judgment in all assignments.
• Assist with data collection, analysis and preparation of reports, presentations and informational material.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and thorough knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to security protocols.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and travel.
• Professional demeanor when dealing with senior officials and visitors.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for routine vehicle checks and minor repairs.
