Chief Internal Auditor

About the role

The Chief Internal Auditor will lead Zurich's internal audit function in Malaysia, providing independent assurance to the Board Audit Committee and senior management on risk, controls and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a risk‑based audit methodology covering all Malaysian branches, subsidiaries and outsourced activities.
• Deliver the audit portfolio – planning, execution and reporting – while ensuring quality, timeliness and budget compliance.
• Collaborate with APAC audit leads to secure appropriate resources and technical expertise.
• Drive the use of data analytics, AI and Agile techniques to enhance audit insight and efficiency.
• Oversee the performance, development and succession planning of the Malaysia internal audit team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Chartered Accountant, CPA, CIA, CISA or similar certification; insurance or Takaful experience is a plus.
• Extensive auditing experience in financial services or insurance, with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong project management and people‑management capabilities.
